Guess what I have done, I have given up smoking. Well I haven’t had a cigarette for ages (two weeks and counting) and yes I have become one of those people who can’t stand the smell of cigarette smoke. How did I do it.
I just did it. It is really weird. I had been talking about it, giving it up for a day, two days. All it took was one day my 7 year grandson turned around and nana, you are always talking about giving up smoking (as I went out to the garden for a cigarette). I felt so small, I cringed. I didn’t say I wasn’t going to have any more cigarettes. I just haven’t any since then. That’s all it took, some wise words for a 7 year old!
Why did I make it such a big deal of it I blamed it on to my husband, who is still a smoker and used to leave cigarettes around. I asked him (very nicely) not to leave packets of cigarettes around. I blamed it onto stress but it never did make the stress go away. How can a stick of tobacco make stress go away?
I stopped making it a big deal in my life. Once I did that, it wasn’t important any more.
Congratulations,
I am glad you quit smoking, this is something I have been trying to do for forever, but can't stop because of "stress" realy its a mind game we all play (us smokers) everything is related to stress, and stress still doesnt manage to go away smoking, maybe its a relief I guess, anyways, Im going to attemot to stop this coming year (2008) wish me good luck, and congratulations again , it is a really hard thing to do.
