Smiling your way to happiness

Have you ever tried smiling when things are going bad?  You think it is impossible but sit up (or stand up) shoulders back and smile. Watch the world change in front on you. What was bleak is not so bleak.  In fact nothing is as bleak as you think it if, if you just smile. Try it.

Something's Coming

I woke up this morning and with an air of expectation, not sure what it was - but it was good and then I started singing to myself (just as well no-one else was around):

My 4 week old grandson smiled at me today!  Well actually it was wind but nevertheless his whole face lit up with this smile.  It made my day.

Wake up and smile

There you are all snug in bed and the alarm goes off.  You try and switch if off and it falls off the table still ringing.  Out of bed you stumble, stand on the alarm clock and hurt your foot. Can your day get any better?

Walking in the Park

Walking round the park with the dog, which was my last 'job' for the day, I was thinking that I couldn't wait to get home, collapse in front of the TV watch recorded 'ER '- well just sit down and do nothing.  I had looked in the mirror earlier and wondered who that tired women was staring back at me and not feeling to good about it.  I suppose the fact that the heavens had opened up and drenched me didn't actually  help, where had the sunshine gone?

The Bycle Joke

My grandson is soon to be 7. A handsome lad (I would say that, he is my grandson).  He is an ardent Arsenal supporter, to some that is a good thing to others not so good.  Arsenal supporters are 'hard' (supposedly) and he, like his dad has good and big kind heart.  He likes to be the big 'I am' but is a bit of a softie.
